DESCRIPTION:Startups and Requirements (Keynote) (Chair: Claes Wohlin)\nAnth ony I. Wasserman\nCarnegie Mellon University\, USA\n\nTech startups typical ly approach requirements gathering differently from the process that is use d to develop requirements in existing businesses and for existing products. Many of these startups operate in "\;stealth mode"\;\, taking care to minimize the number of people with whom they share their innovative ide as. It'\;s common for these startups to create a succession of early rel eases\, and apply user feedback from those releases to evolve the features and functions of their products. This talk describes various approaches us ed by tech startups to define product requirements\, and contrasts those ap proaches with those used in more traditional requirements engineering activ ities.\n UID:Uw1eito0qu ORGANIZER:ConfPub CATEGORIES:Conference Program Event END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT CREATED:20150329T155819Z DTSTAMP:20150329T155819Z DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140828T084500 DTEND;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140828T100000 SUMMARY:Now More Than Ever: Privacy and Security Are Required (Keynote) LOCATION:Multiroom DESCRIPTION:Now More Than Ever: Privacy and Security Are Required (Keynote) (Chair: Alistair Sutcliffe)\nAnnie I. Antón\nGeorgia Tech\, USA\n\nProperl y protecting information is in all our best interests\, but it is a compl ex undertaking. The fact that regulation is often written by non-technolo gists\, introduces additional challenges and obstacles. Moreover\, those who design systems that collect\, store\, and maintain sensitive informat ion have an obligation to design systems holistically within this broader context of regulatory and legal compliance. There are questions that sho uld be asked when developing new requirements for information systems. Fo r example\, how do we build systems to handle data that must be kept secu re and private when relevant regulations tie your hands? When building a system that maintains health or financial records for a large number of p eople\, what do we need to do to protect the information against theft an d abuse\, keep the information private\, AND at the same time\, satisfy a ll governing privacy/security laws and restrictions? Moreover\, how do we know that we'\;ve satisfied those laws? How do we monitor for com pliance while ensuring that we'\;re monitoring the right things? And \, how do you accomplish all this in a way that can be expressed clearly to end-users and legislators (or auditors) so they can be confident you are doing the right things? We'\;ve been working on technologies to mak e these tasks simpler\, and in some senses\, automatic. In this talk\, I will describe some of the research that we have been conducting to addres s these problems.\n UID:chaeye8Mie ORGANIZER:ConfPub CATEGORIES:Conference Program Event END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT CREATED:20150329T155819Z DTSTAMP:20150329T155819Z DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140827T103000 DTEND;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140827T120000 SUMMARY:Empirical Studies in Elicitation LOCATION:Multiroom DESCRIPTION:Empirical Studies in Elicitation (Chair: Daniel Amyot)\n\nHow P ractitioners Approach Gameplay Requirements? Technology Transfer in the Requirements Enginee ring Domain (Panel) LOCATION:Multiroom DESCRIPTION:Ready-Set-Transfer! Technology Transfer in the Requirements Eng ineering Domain (Panel) (Chair: Jane Hayes\; Didar Zowghi)\nJane Huffman Ha yes and Didar Zowghi\nUniversity of Kentucky\, USA\; University of Technolo gy Sydney\, Australia\n\nThough the primary goal of requirements engineerin g research is to propose\, develop\, and validate effective solutions for i mportant practical problems\, practice has shown that successful projects t ake from 20-25 years to reach full industry adoption\, while many projects fade and never advance beyond the initial research phase. In this interacti ve panel\, teams of researchers\, representing different requirements engin eering research areas\, bring ideas for technology transfer to a panel of i ndustrial and government practitioners. The teams make interactive presenta tions and receive feedback from panelists. Beneath the game-show genre of t he panel is the serious goal to foster conversation between practitioners a nd researchers to improve the effectiveness of technology transfer in the r equirements engineering community.\n UID:ohXaig2ja9 ORGANIZER:ConfPub CATEGORIES:Conference Program Event END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT CREATED:20150329T155819Z DTSTAMP:20150329T155819Z DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140829T133000 DTEND;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20140829T143000 SUMMARY:Meet the Dean: Industrial Requirements Engineering in the Curriculu m LOCATION:Multiroom DESCRIPTION:Meet the Dean: Industrial Requirements Engineering in the Curri culum\n\n UID:Seaph7thai ORGANIZER:ConfPub CATEGORIES:Conference Program Event END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
