ESEC/FSE '13-PANELS: "A Publication Culture in Software ..."
A Publication Culture in Software Engineering (Panel)
Steven Fraser, Luciano Baresi, Jane Cleland-Huang, Carlo A. Furia, Georges Gonthier, Paola Inverardi, and Moshe Y. Vardi (CISCO, USA; Politecnico di Milano, Italy; DePaul University, USA; ETH Zurich, Switzerland; Microsoft Research, UK; University of L’Aquila, USA; Rice University, USA) This panel will discuss what characterizes the publication process in the software engineering community and debate how it serves the needs of the community, whether it is fair - e.g. valuable work gets published and mediocre work rejected - and highlight the obstacles for young scientists. The panel will conclude with a discussion on suggested next steps. @InProceedings{ESEC/FSE13p19, author = {Steven Fraser and Luciano Baresi and Jane Cleland-Huang and Carlo A. Bertrand Meyer , Harald Gall, Mark Harman, and Giancarlo Succi (ETH Zurich, Switzerland; ITMO, Russia; Eiffel Software, USA; University of Zurich, Switzerland; University College London, UK; Microsoft Research, UK; Free University of Bozen, Italy) Can the methods of empirical software engineering give us answers to the truly important open questions in the field? @InProceedings{ESEC/FSE13p14, author = {Bertrand Meyer and Harald Gall and Mark Harman and Giancarlo Succi}, title = {Empirical Answers to Fundamental Software Engineering Problems (Panel)}, booktitle = {Proc.\ ESEC/FSE}, publisher = {ACM}, pages = {14--18}, doi = {}, year = {2013}, } |
